
Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Steven Kalas earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Northern Arizona University and a master's in theology from Southern Methodist University. He works as an individual, marriage, and family counselor and pastoral counselor in Las Vegas, Nevada. Steven's column, Human Matters, is published Sundays and Tuesdays in the
Las Vegas Review-Journal. Steven is a former Episcopal priest turned counselor and freelance writer. He does stand-up comedy, and travels nationally as a public speaker. He writes songs and performs in the band Paper Cymbal (
www.stevenkalas.com). Steven has three sons: Jonathan, 16, Aaron, 14, and (what was he thinking?) Joseph, age 5. He is a rabid Phoenix Suns fan, a crazed Green Bay Packers fan, a Beatlemaniac, and owns DVD recordings of every known work of Monty Python's Flying Circus.
